Artist Statement

The sculpture was inspired by the original architecture behind all theme parks. The idea that each part of the theme parks preparation is important. It’s someone’s job to design the whimsical ideas that are contributed to the architecture. This is why it is important to express the background that goes into every theme park. In this relief sculpture, each piece was casually articulated to represent whimsical design and other aspects of architecture. A simple staircase to represent how practical pieces of the building design can be decorated. Mirrors to reflect the commoninality of mirrors present everywhere in society. Wooded dowels to represent the sturdiness of the plans that go into designing a theme park.
